Stop Worrying. It’s Going To Be Ok.

How The Bankruptcy Process Works

The bankruptcy process in Tennessee involves many steps, and dealing with them is my job. When you choose me, attorney Ben Sissman, to help you overcome your debt through bankruptcy, the process will look something like this:

Step One: The First Meeting

I will sit down with you to discuss bankruptcy qualification and explain things like bankruptcy exemptions. I may want to know about your family. I may want to know about your goals. Where do you want to be in 10 years? 20? 30? With more than 30 years of experience on my side, I have learned that answers to these questions are necessary to create a personalized solution to your debt problem.

Step Two: Sign The Bankruptcy Petition

As in everything legal, there is paperwork. However, there’s not as much as you may expect. You will need to return to my law office to sign the bankruptcy petition. If you have any further questions or concerns, I can address them. Of course, I’m here for you from start to finish, so you probably already have been given all the info you need at this point. I will then take the signed petition and file for bankruptcy.

Step Three: Live Your Life Free Of Debt

Remember what it was like to not have to worry about creditor harassment? As soon as I file for bankruptcy on your behalf, an automatic stay will take effect and the creditor harassment will stop. No more threats of foreclosure or anything. You will be free to live your life.
